Questions have started to be raised on the Delhi government over the incident of acid attack on a 17 year old girl student going to school in broad daylight in the Dwarka area of the capital Delhi. However, DCP Dwarka M. Harshvardhan (DCP Dwarka M. Harshvardhan) told that the Delhi Police arrested all the three accused involved in the incident late in the evening.
Earlier, the National Child Rights Protection Commission (NCPCR) says that there is a Supreme Court ban on selling acid. In such a situation, if someone is carrying acid inside Delhi, then it is the responsibility of the state government to find out from where he got the acid.
CM Arvind Kejriwal said, “Safety of every daughter in Delhi is important for us”
After the incident, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had tweeted saying, “This absolutely cannot be tolerated. How did the criminals get so much courage? The criminals should be given the strictest punishment. The safety of every girl child in Delhi is important to us."
NCPCR chairman said that the mistake is of the state government
Priyank Kanoongo, chairman of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, said on Wednesday that if the acid was brought from Delhi, then the Delhi government is to blame. “It is the responsibility of the state government to enforce the ban on acid sale. The Supreme Court has banned the sale of acid. It is up to the state governments and state agencies to ensure that the ban is enforced."
Lieutenant Governor asked for report from Delhi Police Commissioner
On the other hand, after the incident, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena has called for a complete report from the Delhi Police Commissioner regarding the matter. The Raj Bhavan tweeted, “The Lt Governor spoke to the Commissioner of Police regarding the unfortunate incident of acid attack at Dwarka Mor today and sought a detailed report on the incident. '
The report has also asked to explain how acid was procured despite a ban on its sale in the city.
